College Beat

The main refernce for the start of this beat is Morrisons.  Parking is possible by the field entrance adjacent to Morrisons Petrol Startion and next to the Community Orchard, accssed by the industrial estate.  Entry to the beat is the gate to the field or near to the Community Orchard.  Continuing under the road bridge, the beat continues behind Tiverton High School and Tiverton College. then under the road bridge for the A361, upto the Salmon Ponds.  Fishing from the bank is possible in only a couple of places, and be aware of the deep pools as this beat has exposed bedrock that has many deep areas so a wading stick is always recommended.  Wild Brown trout and Grayling reside in this stretch.  Refer to the TFFA Beat Map PDF for which bank to fish from.  Click Here to see the start of this beat on What3Words

Bickleigh Beat

This is a stunning beat just above Bickleigh, very little can be fished from the bank due to the wild wooded banks.  There are many deep holes and the start of the beat has trecherous, jagged bedrock which can easily catch out an angler.  Moving up the beat, the river becomes a little more friendly and there are some beautiful runs.  Wild Brown trout can be found here.  Refer to the TFFA Beat Map PDF for which bank to fish from.  Click Here to see the start of this beat on What3Words

Washfield Weir

Just upstream of Tiverton is this Washfield Weir Stretch.  Running slightly slower than the downstream stretches due to being a wider river, there are again deep sections and the wild weir to navigate and fish.  Refer to the TFFA Beat Map PDF for which bank to fish from.  Click Here to see the start of this beat on What3Words
